Malaga Feria 2019
For 2019 the Malaga Feria kicks off at midnight on Wednesday 14th with a spectacular firework display over the sea. There is excellent viewing from the Port, Gibralfaro, Playa la Malagueta and Playa de la Caleta. The feria runs every day and night until Saturday 24th of August.
The city has not released the detailed program for the feria but you can use last years program as a guide to what will happen.
The Malaga Feria was first held in 1491 to commemoration the incorporation of Malaga to the Crown of Castile by the Catholic Monarchs, who entered the city on August 19, 1487. Highlights of the Feris include the opening night fireworks, the RomerĂa (which is a parade of horses carts with traditional costumes), the city centre fair where you can taste wines and tapas accompanied by music in the historic streets of Malaga; the Real de la Feria, in which booths, live performances, and fairground attractions meet in an enclosure prepared for visitor enjoyment. After midnight the enormous fun fair opens out of the city centre at the Palacio de Ferias.
